Nabard estimates West Bengal s credit potential at ₹2 21-lakh crore for 2021-22

January 28, 2021 × Nabard has estimated a credit potential of ₹2.21-lakh crore for West Bengal for 2021-22 under the priority sectors. This is almost 16 per cent higher than the estimated credit potential of ₹1.91-lakh crore for FY-21. Of the total credit, the share of agriculture sector including agri infrastructure and ancillary activities is around 40 per cent, MSME is 44 per cent, SHG-JLG around eight per cent, housing sector five per cent, education loans two per cent, social infrastructure – one per cent and the remaining one per cent would be export credit and renewable energy, said a press statement issued by Nabard. Crop loan constitutes around 65 per cent of the total agriculture credit and 26 per cent of the total priority sector credit potential. Allied agriculture constitute around 22 per cent while agri infrastructure and agri ancillary constitute around seven per cent each of agriculture credit. PLP pegged at ₹4,424 cr for Perambalur Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The Potential Linked Credit Plan prepared by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has assessed the credit potential for Perambalur district during 2021-23 at ₹4,424 crore, a projected growth of 9.32% more than the projections for the current year. The PLP was released by Collector Sri Venkada Priya at the District Consultative Committee meeting of bankers held recently. The first copy of the document was received by Lakshmi Narasimhan, Chief Regional Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Thanjavur. The PLP for the year has been prepared on the theme of “Collectivisation of agriculture produce for enhancing farmers’ income.’ Speaking on the occasion, Ms.Priya observed that there was good scope of promoting farmers producers organisations in dairy sector in Perambalur district and suggested setting up of an animal feed unit by FPOs as the raw material required for the same

Of this, the potential for short-term crop loans is estimated at ₹2,128 crore and the estimate for term credit for important thrust areas such as water resources, farm mechanisation, plantation and horticulture, forestry and wasteland development, fisheries and animal husbandry stands at ₹749 crore.
