EMR vendor Allscripts has gone live with its electronic medical record at the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) emergency department in Victoria, part of its wider roll-out of the Sunrise EMR for the Gippsland Health Alliance.
The vendor has also rebranded its BOSSnet digital health record to Allscripts Opal, and has migrated it over to the private cloud service provided by Atos as part of WA Health’s $409 million infrastructure replacement project HealthNext.

The Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA) has announced plans for the expansion of its Allscripts Sunrise™ electronic health record (EHR) across the Victoria, Australia region of Gippsland. Phase 3 of GHA’s EHR Community Health project will see the implementation of the Sunrise Emergency Care module (within the Sunrise EHR platform of health) at the emergency department facilities of the Central Gippsland Health Service, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (servicing east Gippsland), West Gippsland Healthcare Group and Bass Coast Health, which covers the southern part of the region. Sunrise will then be rolled out across inpatient services at all four hospitals.

The Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA) will extend its implementation of Allscripts’ Sunrise electronic medical record (EMR) across Victoria’s Gippsland region following a roll-out at the 300-bed Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) last year.
As part of phase three of the project, the Sunrise emergency care module will be rolled out in the emergency departments of the Central Gippsland Health Service, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, West Gippsland Healthcare Group and Bass Coast Health. Sunrise will then be rolled out across inpatient services at all four hospitals.
