Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Dosu has urged the Plateau State Government to sack Plateau United General Manager, Pius Henwan, following his directive to place players on half salaries, The PUNCH reports.
Henwan on Monday directed that players of the club be placed on half-pay in the wake of their 2-0 home loss to Kwara United on match-day one of the Nigeria Professional Football League in Jos.
The defeat was Plateau United’s second in three games this season having lost to Simba SC of Tanzania in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary qualifier in Jos, before forced earning a draw in the second leg.
Players of Jos-based team, Plateau United Football Club have been placed on half salary following their poor start to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season after going down 2-0 to Kwara United of Ilorin at the new Jos stadium.
General Manager of the Club, Pius Henwan gave issued the directive yesterday while addressing players and coaches barely 24 hours after the dismal start to the NPFL season.
He explained that the team have no excuse whatsoever not to beat Kwara United stressing that their performance during the match was not acceptable.
Henwan lamented that despite the state government’s huge investment on the team, the players are not reciprocating the gesture.

The management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos has placed the entire team on half salary following their 0-2 loss to Kwara United of Ilorin on Match Day 1 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Media Officer of the Club, Albert Dakup, in a statement in Lagos, disclosed that the club took the hard stance after the defeat at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday, Dec.27.
The statement said the club’s General Manager (GM), Pius Henwan, handed down the directive while addressing players and coaches during which he told them that they had no excuse whatsoever not to beat their opponents, describing their performance as unacceptable.
