An Evangeline Parish student athlete will bring home some wins after competing in the LHSAA State Track Meet in Baton Rouge Friday.
That meet is happening at LSU in Baton Rouge.
Pine Prairie senior Asia George competed in the long jump, the triple jump, and the 200 meter today. She placed 4th in the long jump, 2nd in the triple jump, and 5th in the 200m.
On top of that, George was also selected as MVP for softball in the district and she was also homecoming queen at Pine Prairie High School.

An Evangeline Parish student athlete received an honor guard escort on Thursday morning as she heads off to the LHSAA State Track meet.
That meet is happening at LSU in Baton Rouge.
Asia George will be competing in the long jump, the triple jump, and the 200 meter today.
On top of that, George was also selected as MVP for softball in the district and she was also homecoming queen at Pine Prairie High School.
Principal Alice D. LeJeune says that George made history at their school after qualifying for the state events.

BATON ROUGE, La. â Early College Academy in Lafayette Parish and Pine Prairie High School in Evangeline Parish have been named
According to a release from the Louisiana Department of Education, the Louisiana schools earned the honor for exceptional performance for two or more years.
âOur children are our highest priority. The teachers, leaders and families of these schools are committed to that student-first mission, said State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley in a release.
The NAESPA annually recognizes two Title I schools in every state. Title I schools, a designation based on the percentage of their students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals, receive additional federal funding to support populations of at-risk or economically-disadvantaged students through enhanced programming.
