BEACHBURG – After a month of trying to convince the provincial government to resume cancer surgeries in Ontario, a Beachburg mother of three has a date for her first of two surgeries to battle Stage 4 abdominal cancer.
Paige Atherton got a call from Mount Sinai Hospital on May 17 informing her that she has been scheduled for a diagnostic laparoscopy in Toronto on May 26. While this was welcome news for the 28-year-old who recently underwent her 12

A stage four cancer patient is begging the Ford government to reinstate life saving surgeries at hospitals.
