UnLtd and OMD ask the industry to put on their PJs for National Pyjama Day in new campaign

July 22 2021, 9:18 am | BY Ricki Green | 2 Comments UnLtd and OMD are asking the industry to get involved in National Pyjama Day in support of The Pyjama Foundation this Friday, July 23rd by spending the day in your PJs.   The call out asks for the industry to share a photo in their pyjamas with the hashtag #InMyPJs and tag @thepyjamafoundation to help raise awareness for the Aussie charity dedicated to breaking the cycle of disadvantage for children in foster care. Says Kate Holland, account director at UnLtd: “We know that some of you are already rocking the pyjama suit from home – pjs on the bottom and dressed for work on top – so why not rally your team together for the comfiest day of the year whilst raising awareness for The Pyjama Foundation?”

How you can help on National Pyjama Day

There are more than 48,000 children in foster care in Australia currently and the reality is that the overwhelming majority of these children will not finish school.  In fact 75% of children in the care system will not complete 12 years of school education and 92% are below the average reading level at age seven.  A low level of literacy is an indicator of poor health associated with disadvantage and leads to a higher chance of homelessness.   The aim of National Pyjama Day is to raise funds for The Pyjama Foundation s Love of Learning program, which sees children in foster care matched with a volunteer known as a Pyjama Angel to help build their confidence, improve literacy and develop life skills
