Youth charity Krunch South West recently opened their new venue, The Pod, at Thornbury Skatepark. The new unit has now been installed at the rear of The Pod, thanks to the work of volunteers.
The new unit being installed Youthwork manager Penny Baker said: “The work that has been carried out will enable us to offer access to more groups of young people, including those with additional needs, as well as being able to provide a more extensive and creative range of activities.” “The new unit in particular will allow us to store our equipment, provide a store for donated food and provide workshop space to teach young people practical skills.

Detective work and persistence by rescuers has paid off for two pony mares who were living in a small walled urban garden in Britain.
The pair were living in a garden which was “a dustbowl” in summer and “a mud bath” in winter. There was no grass to eat, the ponies could barely see over the wall and they never went out of the enclosure. They were, however, being provided with food and water by their owner and had a small shelter so their very basic needs for existence were being met meaning that legally, there were no immediate grounds to remove the ponies.
A THORNBURY charity worker says she has been overwhelmed by the support of local people in helping improve their base. Krunch South West has continued supporting young people throughout lockdown, both virtually and at Pod - their new venue at Thornbury Skatepark. Last week the charity delivered activities and free food to young people, running twice as many sessions as originally planned due to demand. Activities included baking, bushcraft and a trip to the high ropes course at Mojo Active near Almondsbury. Youthwork manager Penny Baker said: “We are so excited to be able to work with more young people and offer a more diverse range of activities.
