It s believed the Hatfield Hotel was a pub that was not allowed to serve alcohol due to a religious covenant

The refurbishment of a long standing business has revealed the incredible stone masonry of the building s original use as a hotel and pub. The building on Smithdown Road has been the home of clothing company Fitwell for over 30 years.
Now building work and removal of the shop s sign has revealed the name of the Hatfield Hotel ornately carved in stone.
