Bauchi State government on Monday raised an alarm over the security threats to the state following an influx of armed bandits from neighbouring states where insurgent group, Boko Haram operates and causes hardship.
Addressing journalists at the Government House, Bauchi, after an emergency security council meeting, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mohammed Sabiu Baba, raised the alarm, adding that some bandits have infiltrated the state.
The SSG, who was in the company of security agents while addressing journalists, informed that no fewer than five bandits had been nabbed by security operatives in the state so far.

The Nigerian Military said its Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole, eliminated several Biko Haram terrorists and destroyed 2 gun trucks along the Wamdeo-Chul axis in the Southern part of Borno State.
The military in a statement issued on Wednesday by Major General, John Enenche, Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters,
said the feat was achieved on 5 January 2021, as the Air Task Force scrambled Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter gunships to provide close air support as troops repelled the terrorists, who attempted to breach the 2 locations.
“Upon sighting the NAF helicopter gunships, the terrorists, mounted on guntrucks and motorcycles, attempted to beat a hasty retreat whilst firing at the attack aircraft.

Ten (10) people, including four security personnel, were reportedly killed on boxing day during an attack by Boko Haram in Shaffa, Azare and Tashan Alade villages in Hawul local government area of Borno State, northeast Nigeria.
The attack in the northeast, which started in Garkida where six people were killed and eleven persons persons on Christmas eve, prompted Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum to visit Hauwul local government on Sunday to condole with the people.
Residents of the area said they had knowledge of the attack on the 21st December, 2020 and informed the security agencies.
