By opening a “trophy park” in Baku, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has made himself on par with dictators like Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein, said lawmaker Edmon Marukyan, member of Armenia’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Marukyan, who is the leader of the parliamentary opposition Bright Armenia Party, made the statement in remarks presented at the PACE meeting.

WASHINGTON: The United States has advised its citizens to say goodbye to foreign travel for now to 80 per cent of countries worldwide, including to India, amid a global surge in Covid-19 cases that has brought intense scrutiny on New Delhi.
While the State Department bumped up 80 percent of the world s countries to a Level 4 warning, putting a dampener on global travel and tourism, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has advised its citizens to avoid traveling to India, even if they are fully vaccinated, as there is a very high level of Covid-19 in the country, specifically noting variants of the coronavirus.

Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev is proud. On April 12, 2021, Azerbaijani public television station ITV broadcast an hour-long program inaugurating a new museum in Baku to celebrate Azerbaijan’s victory in the forty-four-day Nagorno-Karabakh War. Aliyev, who never served in the military even as his peers fought in the first Nagorno-Karabakh War, strolls around in military fatigues showing off captured Armenianequipment and wax models of Armenian soldiers before addressing assembled troops. The centerpiece of the “Park of Trophies” is an arch made from the helmets of killed and captured Armenian soldiers. That Azerbaijan continues to hold illegally 260 prisoners of war (POWs) and kidnapped civilians, some of whom it might have killed in captivity, underscores the tastelessness of the display.
April is Arab American Heritage Month, the State Department declares
The culture of Arab Americans will be honored this month, with the designation by the State Department of April as Arab American Heritage Month, reflecting the group’s contributions to the US “are as old as America itself,” a spokesman said.
“The United States is home to more than 3.5 million Arab Americans representing a diverse array of cultures and traditions. Like their fellow citizens, Americans of Arab heritage are very much a part of the fabric of this nation,” Ned Price, a spokesman, said in a video statement on April 1.
