Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is May 28 – June 6
With the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season beginning next week, Floridians can save money when buying certain items thanks to the state’s annual Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.
Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the sales tax holiday begins Friday, May 28, and extends through Sunday, June 6.

Governor Ron DeSantis released his $96.6 billion Florida Leads state budget proposal Thursday for Fiscal Year 2021-2022. While the COVID-19 pandemic has tested the strength of our state and our nation, Florida is resilient and will continue to lead the nation, Governor DeSantis said. The cornerstone of my mission has been to protect our most vulnerable residents and put Florida s Seniors First, while ensuring that every Floridian can got to school, go to work, and provide for themselves and their families.
The state will spend an additional $3 billion on Medicaid and per-pupil school spending goes up more than $230.
