CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - Some barges hit the Mississippi River bridge at Caruthersville on Friday morning, February 26.
According to the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office, it happened around 10 a.m.
Barge traffic was halted in the area and the Coast Guard was notified.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Interstate 155 reopened just after noon on Friday after the bridge was inspected.

Investigation underway after man found dead next to road in Pemiscot County, MO
PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo(WSIL) The Pemiscot County, Missouri Sheriff s office is now investigating after a man was found dead along the side of the road.
Pemiscot County 911 received a call about a man lying next to U.S. 412 around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Lamont Harris, 45 of Hayti, deceased on the side of the road.
Pemiscot County Coroner Jim Brimhall will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The Pemiscot County Sheriff s Office, Missouri Highway Patrol, Caruthersville and Hayti Police Departments are still investigating.

PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo. (KAIT) - The Pemiscot County Sheriffâs Office is investigating the cause of death of a man found on the side of a busy highway.
According to Pemiscot County Sheriffâs Office Tommy Greenwell, around 5:30 Monday morning, a 911 call came in for a person lying on the side of the road of U.S. 412 and County Road 281.

PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - An investigation is underway after a man was found dead on the side of the road early on Monday morning, January 25.
According to a release from Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, 911 received a call at 5:36 a.m. on Monday of a person lying on the side of the road on U.S. 412 and County Highway 281. A truck driver reported seeing the person and stopped to check on him.
