(Shutterstock) WALL, NJ - A Wall Township man allegedly threatened physical violence against board of education officials in Sussex County, authorities said Monday. In a Facebook comment, the 47-year-old resident (whose name was not released by police) argued in a thread regarding Sussex County s Sparta Township Public Schools that if [schools] don t open soon, it will be time for physical violence against the people keeping the schools closed. The same subject also wrote that school parents should be knocking down the doors of the (board of education) members and union leaders.

Remote or in-person learning? Here is what Sussex County school district are doing New Jersey Herald Most Sussex County public schools switched to fully remote learning schedules just before Thanksgiving and expected to reopen in mid-January. Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, the plan has changed for some districts that have opted to extend the remote instruction. The Newton school district announced Friday that it will remain fully remote through at least next week after originally planning to resume in-person learning Tuesday. The district was one of several in the county, including Sparta and Vernon, that decided in November to continue their virtual plan until two weeks after the regularly scheduled winter break.
