The University of Bolton s specialist in English literature and philosophy, Dr Jill Marsden is an internationally recognised academic having her research published widely. Under her leadership English and creative writing courses in the School of the Arts have ranked number one for student satisfaction in the North West in The Complete University Guide for four years in a row. And the English and creative writing department was ranked second in the UK by the Guardian University Guide. She is the programme leader for English and creative writing, research coordinator for the School of the Arts, a Member of Board of Studies for Research Degrees, a Member of Standing Panel for Research Degrees and a Member of School Board for Arts.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny tomorrow; Tuesday at 12noon going to his home.
Patricks Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 1pm in St Columbas Church, Drung, Quigleys Point followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.
Due to HSE and Government guidelines, wake funeral and interment are private to family only with a maximum of ten people permitted.

A Bolton NHS Foundation Trust doctor has been awarded a prestigious title at the University of Bolton. Dr Ambar Basu, has been awarded the title of Professor of Medicine at the University of Bolton, after playing a leading role in his field at the trust. Dr Basu is currently a consultant physician in diabetes and endocrinology at the trust, and has played a significant part in developing the role of physician associate with the university. The trust said this had been a very successful piece of work, which has led to the appointment of three physician associates at Bolton Hospital, who support doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients.
Two-vehicle crash
LOCK HAVEN Lock Haven City Police investigated a two-vehicle crash that took place at 12:49 p.m. on Dec. 17 along North Jones Street in Lock Haven.
According to police, a 2019 Dodge pickup truck pulling a trailer slid on a snow-covered roadway and struck a parked 2018 Ford Focus. Damage was minor and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
Police did not release the names of those involved in the crash.
Criminal mischief
BEECH CREEK A case of criminal mischief was investigated by state police at Lamar.
According to police, sometime between Dec. 7 and Dec. 8, two separate vehicles had roofing nails intentionally put in both of their front tires. Patrick McGhee, 60, of Beech Creek sustained damage to the two front tires on his 2016 Ford pickup truck. Luke Peters, 36, of Mill Hall, sustained damage to the two front tires of his 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck.
