ORANGE There were no contested races in the annual town election on Monday, and although everyone running for a seat was victorious, six positions remain unfilled.
There were no successful candidates for the one-year seat or the two-year seat on the Elementary School Committee; the two-year position on the Mahar School Committee; the five-year and two-year seats with the housing authority; and a three-year non-veteran position as a trustee of the soldiers’ memorials. Town Clerk Nancy Blackmer said all boards and committees will have to fill empty seats by coming to a consensus about who should be selected.

Patrick Davis To Kick Off McLemore Songwriters Series Friday, May 14, 2021
McLemore announced the kick off of “The McLemore Songwriters Series”, a monthly concert series taking place from May through October, featuring six performances by some of the most acclaimed songwriters from Nashville and beyond. The first artist to kick off the series will be musician Patrick Davis. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 20 at the Beir Garden at McLemore. Davis is a gifted singer-songwriter whose debut solo album, Chances Are, was co-produced by Hootie & the Blowfish guitarist Mark Bryan, organizers said. Patrick co-wrote Dixie Lullaby for Pat Green, which landed a place in the Country Music Top 20. This opened the door for a series of songwriting collaborations with Jewel, Darius Rucker and Guy Clark, and invitations to tour with Vince Gill, Darius Rucker and Hootie & the Blowfish.
