Water Service Update for Hopewell District Customers
Service restored overnight but setback due to equipment failure. Bottled water distribution continues at Patrick Copeland Elementary School
HOPEWELL, Va. (February 16, 2021) -
Although water service had been restored to customers overnight, Virginia American Water is reporting a service outage again in its Hopewell District due to equipment failure. This includes approximately 9,500 customers in the City of Hopewell, as well as the subdivisions of New Birchett Estates, Cedar Creek, Cedar Creek West, Strattford Woods and Mullberry Woods in Prince George County.
Virginia American Water is working to resolve the issue in the Hopewell system as quickly and safely as possible, and thanks its customers for their patience and understanding.
"Repairs have been initiated and work is on-going to ensure that the system is fully functional," the city of Hopewell released in a statement Monday night. "Water pressure should gradually build across the city over the next several hours, if no further issues occur."
