The Salvation Army Family Store has reopened after eight months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The roughly 15,000-square-foot thrift store reopened two months ago at 5042 S. Padre Island Dr. The nonprofit renovated the store while it was closed with new dressing rooms, flooring and decorations.
The Salvation Army Coastal Bend is celebrating with a ribbon cutting at the store at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The family store sells donated, gently used clothing, furniture, household appliances, electronics, books and more. New items are added every week.
If you shop or donate to the store, you re helping fund services the local Salvation Army offers to those in need, said Capt. Patrick Gesner, commanding officer of the nonprofit.
