Meadow Park, Borehamwood A new bandstand will be constructed in a park in Borehamwood at a cost of nearly £60,000. Hertsmere Borough Council has granted permission for the new structure in Meadow Park which is hoped will be ready for use this summer. The leader of Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council, Pat Strack, said she was absolutely delighted to receive permission from the council’s planning committee for the bandstand, which she says will be available for use by the whole community. Brass band concerts under the new permanent bandstand have already been planned for June 27, July 4, July 11, and July 18. Up to £59,500 will be spent on the bandstand, funded by the town council, after funding was agreed at a full council meeting back in June.
