By Mark Ellebracht - WBGZ Radio Madison County Board member and longtime Alton City Alderman Jim Dodd has died.  Dodd had served on the Madison County Board since 2012, although poor health kept him from participating in recent years.  He also served on the Alton City Council for 16 years in the 1980s and 90s.  He passed away March 10 at the age of 77. Dodd represented the 9 th District of the Madison County Board in Alton, and on the Alton City Council, was alderman for the 6 th Ward.  He also owned and operated Jim’s Mobil and was a frequent caller to Big Z contests, open lines, and Let’s Talk Special Edition. Madison County Board Chairman Kurt Prenzler has 60 days to name a Democrat replacement.   Dodd is survived by his wife Carol, and his family.  Funeral visitation is this evening from 4-7pm at Gent Funeral Home with a service Wednesday morning at 10.
