Six days a week, Santa Clarita Grocery opens its warehouse to people in need.
The charity has a variety of foods available to Santa Clarita residents who use its service. Fresh milk and eggs, vegetables, canned foods, cereal and baked goods are some of the items that can be found in the warehouse.
As guests arrive for pickup, the warm and fresh bagels that are dropped off at the grocery are some of the first items to quickly disappear from the shelves.

HAZLET - When Holmdel resident Robert Ploussas lost his engineering job during the COVID-19 pandemic, he moved on and realized a lifelong dream: opening a bagel shop.
Late last month, Ploussas and his wife, Jessica, opened Bagel Boyz in a store at the corner of Holmdel and Bethany roads, the former home to Holmdel Deli & Groceries. I always wanted to open a bagel shop, Ploussas said. As difficult as the last year had been for all of us, I believe that the pandemic offered us opportunities to look at life differently.
The menu at Bagel Boyz menu includes fresh bagels, sandwiches, wraps, muffins, cookies and coffee. The hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
