The government wants Indian toys to achieve both quality and competitiveness and is exploring what kind of incentives are required by the toy industry, a top official said on Sunday. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, said that toys are of serious economic concern and a very comprehensive toy master plan has been prepared with various ministries and state governments involved to promote the toy industry. He was speaking at a webinar on Driving Investments to India - Making India the next Global Hub for Manufacturing and Sourcing of Toys, during the India Toy Fair-2021.

Bolstering Domestic Toy Manufacturing Industry, PM Modi To Inaugurate The India Toy Fair 2021 Tomorrow The India Toy Fair 2021 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate The India Toy Fair 2021 on 27th February at 11 am via video conferencing, an official release said on Thursday (24 February). The fair, which will be held virtually from 27 February to 2 March 2021, aims to bring together all stakeholders including buyers, sellers, students, teachers, designers etc on a virtual platform to create sustainable linkages and encourage dialogue for the overall development of the industry, the release said. According to the release, the platform would enable the government and the industry to come together to discuss how India can be made the next global hub for manufacturing and sourcing of toys by way of attracting investments in the sector and promoting exports.
