NMITE signs MOU with Edinburgh Napier University - Timber Trades Journal Online

The New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Edinburgh Napier University (ENU). The news came as it announced that Professor Robert Hairstans has joined as founding director of the NMITE’s Centre for Advanced Timber Technology (CATT) (ttjonline March 11). His role will be to lead the development and delivery of the CATT, to help establish it as the leading national location in timber education and to work with the broader NMITE academic team to create a sustainable educational portfolio.  Prof Hairstans joins on a two-year secondment from Edinburgh Napier University (ENU), where he is head of the Centre for Offsite Construction + Innovative Structures (COCIS) within the University s Institute for Sustainable Construction.

(WTVM) - The COVID-19 vaccine rollout effort continues across east Alabama. The state has finally launched it’s online registration portal after almost two months of only having a telephone hotline available for registration. There have been some kinks with the system. One Alabama couple says they’re upset with the way things have turned out for them in their efforts to sign up to receive the vaccine. NMITE hires two academics ahead of September intake

NMITE’s Chief Academic Officer Professor Beverley Gibbs HEREFORD s new university has hired two academic staff members ahead of their first intake in September. The New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) has appointed assistant professors Aris Quintana-Nedelcos and Tim Belden. Mr Quintana-Nedelcos has over 15 years experience in engineering, physics and maths higher education having worked in Cuba, Mexico, Slovakia, Turkey and most recently the UK. He joins as assistant professor – Heat Flow & Energy. His passion for challenge-based learning is strongly in keeping with NMITE’s learning-by-doing approach and was of huge appeal to the team, said the university in a statement.
