Forecasters are monitoring a low-pressure system off Queensland that could bring heavy rainfall across the NSW border on Monday, with the chance of showers for many parts of the coast, including Sydney, increasing this week.
Rivers in the north of the state are on flood watch, including the Tweed, Brunswick, Richmond, Wilsons, Orara and Bellinger.
Showers for Sydney and a chilly weekend
Sydney may experience a shower on Monday but wet weather is more likely on Tuesday and Wednesday, when between eight and 25 millimetres of rain is expected.
