View Comments Bella Rae Smith was born premature, weighing 4 pounds and 6 ounces, but you wouldn t know that when you saw her filled with and surrounded by love and life.  Everyone absolutely loved her, said Kimberly Smith, Bella Rae s mother. She graduated out of the NICU and came home and had no complications and pretty much hit the ground running. At 2 years old, Bella Rae was advanced for her age.   She was already reading and she knew the alphabet and numbers past 20, even being able to recite numbers backward and in Spanish, her mother said.  Smith said her mother Bella Rae s grandmother would always say that once Bella Rae started preschool she would be the one who was teaching the class.  Bella Rae is and has always been one of the most amazing children that I have birthed, Smith said.
