BRC Selects TekTracking TIMPS Technology

Keith Rottman/Belt Railway of Chicago The Belt Railway Company of Chicago (BRC) has selected railroad asset management technology development company TekTracking LLC to supply its TIMPS (Track Inspection, Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling Software) system to manage track inspection, maintenance and scheduling activities. TIMPS “revolutionizes all aspects of track maintenance,” the company said. “It augments the railroad’s current track and roadbed inspection process while providing digitized inspection and maintenance reports to support failure trend analysis analytics. TIMPS accelerates the manual processes and adds to the efficiency, worker safety and accuracy of track maintenance while ensuring all inspections occur per the frequency prescribed by the railroad and FRA Part 213 requirements.”

R J Corman Appoints Batory to Board

Ronald L. (Ron) Batory has joined the R.J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC Board of Directors. The R.J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC named Ronald L. (Ron) Batory, former FRA Administrator, to the Board of Directors on Feb. 1. Prior to federal service, Batory was President and Chief Operating Officer of Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) for 12 years, until his retirement in April 2017. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Adrian College in Michigan, Batory began his 46-year railroad career in 1971 working for the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad. He received a Master of Arts degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1975, and then served in positions of progressively greater responsibility with the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, the Chicago, Missouri & Western Railway, and Southern Pacific Transportation Company.
