February 16, 2021 Rehoboth budget discussion set Feb. 19 Rehoboth Beach commissioners will resume budget discussions during a special meeting at 9 a.m., Friday, Feb. 19. This will be their fourth budget meeting. City Manager Sharon Lynn has proposed a $27.7 million budget for next fiscal year, which begins April 1. The proposed budget includes approximately $4.9 million in capital improvements. Anyone wishing to speak must preregister with City Secretary Ann Womack at least 24 hours prior to the meeting by emailing awomack@cityofrehoboth.com. Sussex P&Z meeting at Delaware Tech

Georgetown  DelawareUnited States Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, in Room 540 of the Carter Partnership Center on the Delaware Technical Community College Georgetown campus. Included on the busy agenda is a public hearing on a cluster subdivision application filed by Pelican Point 4-5 for 219 single-family home lots on 110 acres within the existing Pelican Point subdivision on the south and east sides of Townsend Road between Lewes and Long Neck. Following a 5 p.m. recess, the commission will conduct a hearing on a conditional-use application filed by Bioenergy Development Group LLC to to permit the processing and handling of poultry litter to include nutrient recovery for natural gas and electrical generation. The facility is located on a 229-acre parcel on the west side of Route 13A at 28338 Enviro Way, Seaford.

Crews from Port Aransas, Nueces County ESD 1, ESD 2, Corpus Christi Fire Department, Ingleside Volunteer Fire Department, Rockport-Fulton and the Portland Fire Department came in to help battle the blaze for several hours until they brought it under control.
