Hungarian envoy visits Area Study Centre

PESHAWAR: Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan, Bela Fazekas, visited the Area Study Centre (Russia, China and Central Asia), University of Peshawar, on Tuesday.
He visited various sections of the centre. He was informed that Gyorgy Szabad, the then speaker, National Assembly of Hungary, had inaugurated the Plaque at the centre on the 18th February 1993.
Bela Fazekas appreciated the government of Pakistan for its efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries and thanked the government for this honour. An interactive session was held with the faculty and M. Phil and PhD research scholars of the centre.
The Ambassador of Hungary Bela Fazekas met the Federal Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz in Islamabad on Monday, and invited him to attend Planet Budapest 2021 - Sustainability Expo and Summit to be held in November 2021.
Envoys mark Visegrad Group’s 30th anniversary

Islamabad:Diplomats from Central Europe gathered here on Monday to highlight the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad Group, an informal body of political and economic cooperation in the region.
Addressing a joint news conference, Polish Ambassador Piotr Opalinski, Hungarian Ambassador Bela Fazekas, and Deputy Head of Mission of Czech Embassy Antonin Hradelik said in February 1991, the presidents of Poland and the Czech Republic, and the prime minister of Hungary signed the Declaration on Cooperation to strive for European integration in the castle of Visegrad, Hungary.
According to them, the declaration provided a political framework for extensive cooperation between Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Hungary, and brought closer the societies of the three, and later four, countries.
