The Bridge the Gap program was developed in partnership with Seminole County Public Schools, but is open to any 2020 graduate who has not yet started college. [TRENDING: ] Seminole State College’s director of academic success Joe Huston said 2020 graduates left high school in a climate of uncertainty, and this program is designed to give them a solid start to higher education. Students will take two classes this summer, one called “College Success.”

Corin Metz is a varying exceptionalities teacher. The school has four units for children with autism, all with small classes. Metz’s teaches a class of eight students. “Our students that are in our self-contained classrooms, their ability varies from being pretty profound and needing a lot of help to pretty independent. So what we do is we just want to foster that independence and learning in the self-contained classroom where we can keep that classroom small,” she said.

Orlando Repertory Theatre holds camps for students on spring break ‘Kids are feeling stress,’ education director says Tags:  ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Repertory Theatre is welcoming students who are on spring break this week to its camps. “Kids are so excited to be here. We’re having classes from first grade through 12th grade right now,” said Jenn Adams-Carrasquillo, senior director of education. “Kids are feeling the same stress everyone is, related to school, related to whatever is going on at home. And being able to come here and step into the shoes of another character and see something from someone else’s point of view, I think, it’s giving them a little bit of a break and much needed jazz-up to the mind and get it going again.”
