Alliant Energy, city of Perry sign lease agreement for solar project BY BUSINESS RECORD STAFF Tuesday, April 6, 2021 10:49 AM Alliant Energy and the city of Perry have reached an agreement to install a 1-megawatt solar facility on a 7-acre site, Alliant Energy announced this week. The project leased was approved Monday by the Perry City Council. Alliant Energy agreed to lease the site from the city for 25 years, and the company will oversee operations and maintenance. Perry is not financing construction, Alliant said in a statement. The site is expected to be operational by mid-2022.

The latter is a picturesque historical town in Shoalhaven to the south of Sydney which we visited for a family birthday getaway. Part of Berry’s charm was the gorgeous drive along the south coast of New South Wales. You see lots of rolling hills on one side and really jaw-dropping views of sandy bays and turquoise waters on the other. We stayed in a stunning Airbnb and were charmed by the cafes, architecture and craft stores in Berry Town, as well as its surrounding nature and vineyards.

Spiritual Care During the Pandemic

Early in 2020, the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses (FPCU) received a triple whammy. In February, Pastor Cheryl Peeples and her husband, John, accepted a calling to a church in Martinsville, WV because they wanted to be closer to their family. In March, the pandemic caused the church to completely shut down and in-person services could not be held. Finally, longtime music and choir director Alice Ploss retired around Easter.  According to church historian Ginny Miller, FPCU was founded on Jan. 10, 1803 by four families who met at the home of David Atwater and were guided by Jedediah Chapman. The first building was built in 1811 in the Updike settlement near the intersection of Podunk and Perry City Roads. FPCU was incorporated on Sept. 4, 1813. In 1817, the church bought a lot on Main Street from Abner Tremain. Hermon Camp joined the church in 1831 and architect Thomas Judd of Geneva was hired to plan the new church (1849).
