Former Perry Twp. fire chief remembered fondly
Styer
PERRY TOWNSHIP Longtime Perry Township Fire Chief Daryl Styer, who died Thursday at age 66, was “a great asset, not only to Perry Township but to everybody in Allen County,” according to one township official.
Township Trustee Kevin Cox said Styer served the community for more than 40 years in a variety of ways, perhaps none more important than his time spent as chief of the Perry Township Fire Department.
“Daryl help build our fire department and EMT to where it is today,” Cox said. “He’s been a great asset to the fire department. He was always a good listener and a good teacher and, more importantly, a good resident of the community.”
