Chance Palm-Rittle has been helping the homeless since he was 9 years old.
Now 11, Chance donated 500 boxes of cereal and blankets to Opportunity House in Reading on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tulpehocken School District student started his program, Operation Breakfasts and Blankets, in 2018.
Chance had a dream to work in law enforcement. While researching those careers, he discovered officers routinely gave back to their communities. So, he wanted to do the same thing.

Chance wrote a letter to Santa in 2018 asking for clothes and blankets to donate to a local homeless shelter.
With the help of his parents, Chance launched Operation Breakfasts and Blankets. That first year, Chance collected over 75 boxes of cereal and 30 blankets.Â
