Hackensack Man Released On Child Porn Charges

1 Read / Add Comments UPDATE: A Bergen County-based insurance underwriter for entertainers, athletes and corporate executives was released pending court action on child porn charges, authorities said. Matthew Heitman, 33, was arrested Thursday during a raid of his Hackensack home, Prosecutor Mark Musella said. The former Upper Saddle River resident used the Internet to view, download, and possess more than 1,000 digital files and distributed multiple digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, the prosecutor said. Heitman was discovered during a months-long Internet child pornography investigation by detectives from his office and local police, Musella said. They sent him to the Passaic County Jail on possession of child porn and endangerment counts, after which a judge released Heitman on Friday, with conditions, pending further court action.

Lawsuit filed against NJ lab accused of selling bogus COVID-19 tests

NorthJersey.com Litigants are lining up against a Bergen County-based diagnostic lab company for allegedly selling fraudulent COVID-19 tests at one of its South Jersey locations, a scheme officials say ended only after an FBI raid of the facility in early December.  At least four people who fell for the alleged fraud have joined a class-action lawsuit against Infinity Diagnostics Labs, accusing the Teterboro company of advertising $75 rapid  COVID tests that were actually antibody tests with no capacity to detect the virus.  The kits were distributed out of an Infinity location in Ventnor City, according to the suit, filed Dec. 15 in state Superior Court in Atlantic County. The storefront has since shuttered, but not before the alleged scam hoodwinked potentially thousands of people, according to the complaint.
