The annual Write On, Oceanside literary fest is back Aug. 28 in person at the Civic Center Plaza and Courtyard in the morning and online in the afternoon. Authors have until Monday, Aug. 2, to apply for a spot in the event’s Local Author Showcase and Book Fair.
The festival of books began a decade ago to give community members a chance to meet local authors and inspire budding writers. The free event is hosted by the Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation and Oceanside Public Library.
Participating authors can bring copies of their books, promote them, sign them and sell them to the public at the event. Oceanside authors are given priority access and typically there is some space for authors from other local communities. Authors can apply for a spot in the author showcase at tinyurl.com/knvtb2uwvisit and will be notified by Friday, Aug. 6, whether they got in. Book fair participants are given a table and chair with an umbrella or canopy for shade.
