You can picture it, right?
Sitting around the bonfire on the edge of Lake Michigan with your friends?
Dunegrass is Cadillac s newest store. And something else is new, too. The store is selling a recreational product the city hasn t seenâat least not legallyâbefore: marijuana.
Eric and Nick Piedmonte are leading Fresh Coast Provisioning in the opening of Dunegrass stores throughout the region. The northern Michigan vibe is at the center of what they re attempting to do.
There are cherrywood display cabinets, a nod to their Traverse City roots. There ll be locally-sourced marijuana (though not as much in the beginning because the industry is still new and most of the plant is being grown downstate). Their staff in the Cadillac store is almost entirely from Cadillac or nearby towns.

BIG RAPIDS Big Rapids Hospital is quickly administering every COVID vaccine it is given, but has experienced problems in how many doses it receives each week.
Andrea Leslie, president of Spectrum Health Big Rapids, Reed City, United and Kelsey hospitals, highlighted Big Rapids’ vaccine efforts during a Town Gown meeting this week.
“We are seeing less and less community spread of COVID right now. Our positivity rate in the community is quite low,” Leslie explained.
MDOT
January 25, 2021 The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is awarding a state Transportation Economic Development Fund (TEDF) Category F grant of $171,212 to the City of Big Rapids. From day one, I ve been clear that we need to invest more in our state s roads, said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Today, I m proud to announce a transportation economic development grant that will help the City of Big Rapids rebuild an important corridor in the community. Road projects like this connect workers to jobs and provide important links for our communities. We must do more to fix our roads and I stand ready to work with anyone willing to get the job done.
