66-year-old injured when her car hits a tree in Mecosta Co

On Sunday, Mar. 31, at approximately 09:04 A.M., deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 8 Mile Rd. (M-20) & Old-State Rd. in Mecosta Township.
The investigation revealed a 32-year-old female from White Cloud was traveling east bound on 8 Mile Rd approaching Old State Rd. A 27-year-old female from Tustin was travelling north bound on Old State Road, when she proceeded through the stop sign and failed to yield to oncoming east bound traffic. The White Cloud female then hit the Tustin female on the driver side.
Subsequently, the 27-year-old female from Tustin was identified as Catherine Brinks, Brinks died instantly as a result of the injuries she sustained in the collision. The 32-year-old female involved, was transported by Mecosta County EMS to the Big Rapids Hospital for the injuries she sustained in the collision.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Mecosta County EMS, Mecosta Twp Fire
On Wednesday at approximately 11:09 A.M., deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a two-vehicle personal injury accident on 19 Mile Rd at 230th Ave.
The investigation revealed that a 80-year-old male from Big Rapids was south bound on 230th Ave. and stopped at the intersection. He then pulled out onto 19 Mile Rd. in front of a 49-year-old female from Bitely who was traveling west bound. The female's vehicle subsequently "t-boned" the male's vehicle.
The 80-year-old's wife, who was a passenger with him, was transported by EMS to the Big Rapids Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Mecosta EMS, Big Rapids Towing, Big Rapids City Fire/Rescue, and Meceola Central Dispatch.
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at approximately 11:23 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Northland Dr. near 22 Mile Rd. in Green TWP for a motorcycle injury accident.
The driver, a 39 year-old male from Big Rapids, was traveling southbound when a deer jumped out in front of him, causing him to crash. He was transported to Big Rapids Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Big Rapids Fire and Rescue, Mecosta County EMS, and Big Rapids Towing.
