The Chevrolet Impala was used by convicted murderer Duane Earl Pope as a getaway vehicle during a deadly bank robbery in Nebraska in 1965.
Pope rented the car from a Hertz in Salina, Kan., with $50 he borrowed from his father. The recent McPherson College graduate said he was heading to Oklahoma to look for work.

A Siskiyou County family that has been serving customers in Mount Shasta and Yreka for six years opened a new Mexican restaurant in January.
Josefina Arredondo loved cooking so much, making meals for her four children and for customers at her family’s tamale cart wasn t enough. She wanted to be able to cook different things, and make the meals with which she grew up in Sinaloa on Mexico’s West Coast, she said.
So in January, Arredondo opened Josefina’s Taqueria at 1009 South Main St. in Yreka formerly the location of KeTacos.
YREKA, Calif Residents in northern California rallied outside of Yreka City Hall Thursday to protest the County’s new ordinance aimed at curtailing illegal marijuana grow.
On Tuesday, the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors amended Chapter 4 of Title 3 – adding restrictions on water trucks using specific County highways.
The restrictions largely target streets in the unincorporated communities of Butte Valley and Big Springs.
According to the Article, a Water Truck is defined as a vehicle designed or used to carry about 100 gallons of water. The new ordinance prohibits the Trucks from carrying the water in the communities.
Penalties carry a misdemeanor charge and a $100 fine.

Elected officials in Siskiyou County are trying to crack down on the growth of what they say is large-scale illegal marijuana farming. As Northern California enters a deepening drought, they’re doing it by restricting where water trucks can drive.
According to Ed Valenzuela, a Siskiyou County supervisor, it’s common to see dozens of water trucks driving down rural county roads to what he believes are illegal marijuana farms.
“Marijuana is the big driver here,” Valenzuela says. “We have a huge proliferation of illegal grows that we have been experiencing for the last few years.”
On Tuesday the supervisors passed an ordinance that prohibits water trucks from using certain roads in unincorporated parts of the county. If trucks carrying 100 or more gallons of water are caught, they will be fined $100 fine and be charged with a misdemeanor or infraction. In an attempt to curtail the transport of water to irrigate illegal cannabis grows, the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors today approved an urgency ordinance that would make it a misdemeanor to drive a water truck on certain Siskiyou County roads and highways frequented by such traffic.
Any truck that carries more than 100 gallons of water will be prohibited from traveling on specific roads in both the Butte Valley and Big Springs areas where such activity is rampant, effective immediately.
The penalty is a $100 fine and the ordinance may be enforced by any peace officer.
