For awhile in the late 60’s and early 70’s you were hard pressed to find a better blues-rock band than Humble Pie. In a landscape filled with young British guys singing and playing the blues with that rock edge pioneered by names like John Mayall and Alexis Korner, Humble Pie could bring it with anybody. They seemed to be a perfect rock combination of raw and sweet. Steve Marriot brought the grit with both his guitar and his voice. Peter Frampton offered the sugar with his more pop oriented vocals and fretwork. Aided by a solid rhythm section of Greg Ridley on bass and a teenage Jerry Shirley on drums, the Pie offered up their fourth LP in 1971 called “Rock On”.

Alot Needs to Change
Anyone who thinks this Yankee team has what it takes to win a WS is delusional. This team, for the last few years, is made to excel in the regular season. Watch, even after this dreadful start, they will win somewhere between 90-100 games and make the playoffs. Once in the playoffs, we will be bounced like the last few years.
What is wrong with this team? Alot in my opinion. One, this Home Run or strikeout approach to hitting just does not work in the playoffs. Through shear attrition, this team will beat up on the 4 and 5 starters of other teams and the weaker teams but once the playoffs roll around, well that is where the true elite pitchers dominate the Yankees. They are way too right handed, they do not know how or are willing to manufacture a run and the concept of situation hitting might as well be asking them to create the atom bomb.
Patrick “P.T.” Ngwolo, an elder at the inner-city Christian mission Resurrection Houston, may have put it best when he said Mr. Floyd, who stood somewhere between 6 feet, 4 inches and 6 feet, 7 inches was “larger than life.”
“Mr. Floyd was a person who was what we call in the neighborhood an OG, somebody who had been through the wars, who had made the mistakes and who was able to go back to a generation and say, ‘Hey, guys, this is the way you ought to move, this is how you ought to do it,’” Mr. Ngwolo told Fox News.
He said Floyd used his status as an “OG,” or “original gangster,” to help the church make inroads in the Cuney Homes public housing complex, also known as “the Bricks,” by reaching out to neighbors, participating in basketball tournaments and setting up chairs and tables for services every fifth Sunday.
