Recovery mission for Charlottle Straker care home in Northumberland

Charlotte Straker care home Corbridge A CARE home which was rocked by a coronavirus outbreak over Christmas and the New Year is recovering from the devastating setback. The Charlotte Straker Project care home, at Corbidge, reported in January that some of its residents had died from the virus, while some staff members had tested positive. But this week, chair of trustees Berenice Groves said the home was now completely Covid free, and was taking admissions for new residential and nursing residents. The home’s popular respite care bed is also re-opening to offer free short term respite care breaks. However, the charity is now urgently seeking to raise £30,000 to keep the respite service running over the next year, with usual fund-raising activities taking a hit during the pandemic.
