Bentley sets its sights on full service for geotechnics with Seequent buyout
Bentley Systems has announced that it has reached an agreement with investors led by Accel-KKR to acquire geotechnical software specialist Seequent in a deal valued at US$1.03bn (£750M).
In addition to creating a firm foothold in the geotechnical software sector, the deal is expected to add 10% to Bentley’s profits and revenues.
The move follows on from the firm’s buyout of geotechnical data firm Keynetix in May 2019 which was a key driver in development of Bentley’s cloud based Open Ground software. That deal came a year after Bentley acquired numerical modelling software developer Plaxis and Soil Vision to add to its existing geotechnical borehole record data business Gint.
