INDIANA SCHOOL BOARD GIVES PRELIMINARY APPROVAL TO 2021-22 BUDGET By Hometown2

Monday night, the Indiana School Board gave preliminary approval to their 2021-2022 budget, which contains no tax increase for the district’s citizens.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that the district has held the line on property taxes, and the district is estimated to have a budget surplus by $1,706,575. Audit and finance committee chairperson Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro said that the budget for the district is in good shape.
The budget will be approved at board’s special meeting on June 28th, 2021.
In other business, the board approved option A for the Eisenhower entrance way project, directing architects to proceed with the design based on the design that showed new construction in the courtyard in the front of the building. The vote came 5-4. Tom Harley voted against it, saying more work needed to be done with the design.

The Indiana Area School Board is poised to approve a tentative budget for the new fiscal year tonight. The $57.6 million plan holds the line on property taxes. The board also will vote on reappointing Jared Cronauer for a one-year term as district treasurer.
Among other actions expected at tonightâs meeting are a vote to hire a new supervisor of buildings and grounds in the district; proceed with designing a new entranceway for the Eisenhower Elementary School; the acceptance of donations from the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and the faculty unions at United and Homer-Center for the Eisenhower teachers in the wake of the fire that closed the school for the rest of the academic year; and a list of 16 employees for the Summer Learning Camp program.

CURWENSVILLE Curwensville Area School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
Now in its 22nd year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
“It is an honor for Curwensville Area School District to receive this award. The students, staff, school administrators and community have long held a belief that music participation enhances the education of our children. As a school community, we are committed to that ideal,” said Ron Matchock, district superintendent.
