PULWAMA, July 30: District Pulwama Pencak Silat Championship under the banner of Pencak Silat Association of J&K began at Government Degree College Pampore, here.
The three-day championship was inaugurated by the Principal of the College, Professor Seema Naaz, who was also the chief guest of the opening ceremony, wherein about 250 participants are taking part from the adjoining areas of the Pulwama district.
The locals praised the organisers of the event for channelizing the youth energy in positive direction.

9th National Pencak Silat C’ship

SRINAGAR, Mar 31: J&K remained overall champion in Pre Teen, Sub Junior and Junior categories, while Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra stood 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 9th National Pencak Silat Championship which was organised at Indoor Sports Complex Polo Ground, here.
The eight days championship was inaugurated on March 24 which was organized by the Indian Pencak Silat Federation in collaboration with the Pencak Silat Association of J&K and J&K State Sports Council.
Around 2100 players and officials from more than 30 States and UTs participated in this event. In this event, participants of Paramilitary forces and JK Police teams also participated in the senior category.
