An indie band from Cleethorpes and New Waltham, aged between 14 and 16, have burst on to the music scene after collaborating with record label Rough Trade who discovered famous bands like The Smiths and The Cure.
CADILLAC â Although all nine Wexford County Board of Commissioners were present at Wednesday s meeting, only five were able to vote.
Per the March 31 Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Gathering and Face Mask Order Amendment, the public may participate in person in government meetings if social distancing guidelines are followed. That also meant the virtual meetings no longer were an option of the Open Meetings Act unless certain action was taken such as a municipality declaring a state of emergency.
What that meant Wednesday is the four commissioners who attended the meeting via Zoom, Joe Hurlburt, Michael Musta, Julie Theobald and Brian Potter, were not able to vote on any action item.
CADILLAC â The Wexford County Administrator s contract extension was approved Wednesday during the Wexford County Board of Commissioners meeting.
The board voted 7-2 to extend a 30-month contract extension to Wexford County Administrator Janet Koch. Commissioners Joe Hurlburt and Julie Theobald voted against the contract extension. While neither gave their reasons during the virtual meeting, before the vote Hurlburt said he didn t want to see the contract go longer than 24 months.
Commissioner Ben Townsend, who made the motion for the contract extension, said part of the reason he wanted to have the 30-month extension was it allowed the board to move the administrator s evaluation process to August. That would allow time for new commissioners to get familiar with the administrator and their duties rather than shortly after they take office in February.
