Sandy Alcantara cruised through eight innings, ending the Miami Marlins’ longest losing streak in six years at eight games with a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Jesus Aguilar hit a long solo home run and added a sacrifice fly for Miami. Alcantara (3-5) gave up one run and six hits, striking out six.

Ke Bryan Hayes homered and drove in three runs and the Pittsburgh Pirates scored five times in the sixth inning Friday to blast the visiting Miami Marlins 9-2.
Both starters left early, Pittsburgh s Mitch Keller because of what the team called a heat illness, and Miami s Cody Poteet because of a right MCL sprain.
Jacob Stallings hit a two-run single, Adam Frazier had two RBI singles, Bryan Reynolds hit an RBI double and Gregory Polanco added an RBI single for the Pirates.
Keller pitched two innings, giving up two runs on two hits, with three walks and two strikeouts.
Andrew Benintendi had two hits, including a grand slam, and five RBIs as the Kansas City Royals swept a two-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 10-5
