View Comments PRATTVILLE A convicted sex offender was a no-show Monday in Prattville for jury selection in an unrelated case where he faces more than 50 child sex charges. Gary Wayne George, 57, of the of the 1700 block of County Road 19 North, faces 25 counts of production of obscene matter containing visual depiction of a person younger than 17 and 25 counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of a person younger than 17, three counts of rape in the second degree, three counts of sodomy and one count of violation of the  Sex Offender Notification and Registration Act, court records show. He was not registered at the County Road 19 address, records show.

Local news outlets report that Santwone Jones, 26, and Devonte Hill, 19 both pleaded guilty this month to felony murder in the death of John Michael Taylor. Taylor was found mortally wounded on a busy street by a passing motorist while walking home from a convenience store where he had withdrawn cash from an ATM. Before dying, Taylor told police key details that would lead to the arrests of three men. The men were also recorded by a security camera at the store.
