(WSFA) - A plea deal has been reached with two of three suspects charged in a 2016 Prattville homicide case. Santwone Jones and Devonte Hill were awaiting capital murder trials for the May 2016 robbery and homicide of 56-year old John Michael Taylor. Both have agreed to plead guilty to the lesser charge of felony murder. Court documents indicate that as part of his April 6 plea agreement, Hill will spend 20 years in prison and cooperate with prosecutors by testifying against his co-defendants at trial.

Local news outlets report that Santwone Jones, 26, and Devonte Hill, 19 both pleaded guilty this month to felony murder in the death of John Michael Taylor. Taylor was found mortally wounded on a busy street by a passing motorist while walking home from a convenience store where he had withdrawn cash from an ATM. Before dying, Taylor told police key details that would lead to the arrests of three men. The men were also recorded by a security camera at the store.
