Benedictine Living Community of Crookston joined forces with the Parks & Recreation summer program participants of Club Kid to host the first annual Red, White & Blue Kiddie Parade July 1. The outside parade was enjoyed by the community, families and Benedictine s Summit and Villa assisted living residents.

To all of our volunteers at Benedictine Living Community Crookston Villa St Vincent and The Summit, we would like to thank you for the gift you have given us over 1,100 hours were recorded for the year 2020.
With covid these hours were a little different than the years past things such as making masks for staff and peers, sending letters to our resident/tenants, writing out thank you letters to donors, sending in artwork, origami birds to hang from the gazebos, picking weeds, washing windows, window artwork, bringing in horses, outdoor caroling, classic cruiser parades, kiddie parade (outside), golf cart rides with borrowed golf carts, these are just to name some of the creative ways our volunteers have worked to continue their passions of giving back . Your faithful volunteer hours and continued dedication help bring smiles and joy to our residents, tenants, staff, and our entire community.

CROOKSTON – The Benedictine Living Community of Crookston will launch a new program in March that will reach out to senior citizens through phone calls.
The program, called Community Connection, is a way that Benedictine Living Community will offer companionship to senior citizens, said Cassie Rudie, the organization’s housing manager. Because of the pandemic, some seniors have been more isolated from others than they typically are.

Two Benedictine Living Community of Crookston employees are recent recipients of the Minnesota Association of Health Care Volunteers MAHV-elous Awards for being outstanding volunteers for the month of February 2021. Benedictine congratulates Diane Seddon and Marie Chaput for their volunteer service within the organization.
Diane Seddon is the current Benedictine Auxiliary president and volunteer, and serves on many boards and committees within the facility notably helping with the task of outdoor holiday lighting for room-bound residents to enjoy.
“As part of hosting a virtual LIGHT UP A LIFE fundraiser, she was on local radio promoting this year’s creative new approach to the facility’s largest annual fundraiser,” said Benedictine. “Diane has been a rock star when it comes to ‘what can we do’ vs ‘what we can’t do’ during the pandemic.”
