Bethalto man charged in shaken baby case

EDWARDSVILLE – Aggravated battery charges were filed Tuesday against a Bethalto man who is accused of shaking a 3-month-old baby girl and causing severe injuries.
Gordon L. Madrey, 21, of Bethalto, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery one is a Class X felony and the other is a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Bethalto Police Department.
According to court documents and written statement by Bethalto Police, on July 13 police and fire personnel responded to a 911 call from Madrey’s home about a 3-month-old child who was not breathing.
