TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Pima County is encouraging the community to drive less to improve our air.
“Even though you can’t see the pollution coming out of the tailpipe, it’s there. It’s a big contributor to the air pollution we see in our community,” said Beth Gorman, the senior manager of the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality.
There are days when Tucson’s air quality dips into the moderate and even unhealthy range, but Gorman said the air quality is generally good overall. The purpose of the “Healthy Air Is in Our Hands” campaign is to make it even better.
