Hudson Reporter Jersey City Free Public Library offers Women’s History Month events × The Jersey City Free Public Library celebrates Women’s History Month with virtual events open to the public. This year’s theme, “Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silenced,” continues to celebrate the Suffrage Centennial. Throughout the month, JCFPL will host author talks and discussions, monologues, and performances that reflect the contributions women have made and continue to make nationwide and globally. One highlight of the month will be “History Smashers: A Fresh Look at American History, from the Mayflower to the Women’s Suffrage.”

Buttonwoods Museum Offers Two New Puzzle Designs Featuring Haverhill and Women s Suffrage

As a public service, 97.9 WHAV presents Community Spotlight at no charge for the benefit of Greater Haverhill nonprofit organizations. To submit news of events, fundraising appeals and other community calendar announcements, Click image. Haverhill’s Buttonwoods Museum is taking advance orders for two new puzzle designs. Of the two new designs, one features Haverhill images from the Buttonwoods Museum and the other depicts the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Each design is 16 by 20 inches and contain 504 pieces. Puzzles are $25 each and expected to arrive soon. The museum is selling them at buttonwoods.org where credit cards are accepted. (URC PHOTO) NASSAU, BAHAMAS Officials at the Flamingo Gardens Urban Renewal Centre ended the month of January with a focus on Women in Service, during which time the “varied and vast contributions” of Bahamian women, past and present, at the national and community levels were recognized and celebrated. The Post-Majority Rule Day event was held under the patronage of Rome Italia Johnson, the first woman speaker of the House of Assembly (from 1997 to 2002). Prior to that, she served as deputy speaker from 1992 to 1997; and she currently serves as chairperson of the National Council for Older Persons.
