Girl Scouts make cookie sale changes due to the pandemic

TULSA, Okla. â Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma is kicking cookie sales with a new and safe ways to purchase this year.
The eight-week cookie sale runs Jan. 23 through March 21 and due to the pandemic now includes ways to sell or purchase cookies that keeps the scouts, parents, and customers safe and healthy.
âOur troops look forward to our cookie sale each year and learn so many life skills through this experience,â said Celeste Franklin, Director of Product Programs for Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma. âThey learn goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics so wanted to do all we could do to make the sale happen safely.â
Cookie sales go through March.

Or, beginning Monday, text COOKIES to 59618, or use the official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app to find socially distant or contact-free cookie booths if they are available in your area.

Starting Monday, anyone wanting to purchase Girl Scout cookies can have the cookies shipped directly to their home, without having to know a Girl Scout, by using the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app.
The app will allow the user to purchase cookies online. The agency will connect the buyer with a local Girl Scout who will offer the opportunity to have them delivered in person or shipped directly from the baker.
In-person cookie booths will be available if local safety guidelines allow, the agency said today,
Cost for the cookies, which are on sale until March 15, are $4 a package, $5 gluten-free.
